Swinging dance and eggs drop

Portswood Primary Schools upper phase have been entered into maths website called manga high we are now out of hundreds of primary schools, secondary schools and collage's we have after only just a few weeks made our way from the top hundred to the top two and we are only three hundred medals away from top place!

Earlier this morning we were visited by a swing dance company and each class in the upper phase got the great oppurtunity to have a seperate hour of swing dancing. Our swing dancing teachers taught us two diffrent routines the jive and stroll which we then practised SEVERAL times each after we had polished each dance we were dismissed to lunch!

After lunch we prepared our eggs for egg drop. However the day we had run series of tests to find out the best materials to proyect an egg , the material that compressed the most (the foam) was the best after that we were given time to design our final shuttle. We were given lots of diffrent materials including felt, foam, clingfilm and bubble wrap we used this materials to make a space modual that would protect our eggs from a twenty feet drop from 6L's class room window.

The results are:

All the eggs that we dropped apart from one survived the drop and so we were very proud of our achievements.
